The Tenth Meeting

The Tenth Meeting was on the 23rd of November 2017

We as a group discussed a lot about Social Media and that we need more followers and the public to know about our project.

Oscar McGann and Seán Houraghan read the statistics to us about how many followers we currently have on all our Social Media pages.

We as a group were not very happy that we only have 6 followers on Twitter and 37 on Facebook and knew we needed to act quickly on this problem in the next week.

Daragh Hollman took a photo of all the members present for the website so that Rónán Smyth could post it on our ‘new and improved’ website.

Rónán worked a lot on the website in the duration of our meeting asking all the members which colours they prefered, what to include, how much to write etc. So that the website was from the opinions of every single member of our YSI group.

Rónán stated that he still hasn’t published the website but we are struggling to get money to pay for the domain of our website.

Luckily Margaret King rang Dylan Evenden back during the week and Ethan Dodd asked her to please send a quote as we are struggling to get capital.

Fortunately she sent us this on our YSI e-mail stating:

Morning Ethan & Team,

Thank you for your email.

2.00kwp Enphase system = 7 panel install/output kwh/year = 1718 (based on a south facing roof) seeing savings of €343.00 per year allowing 20c per unit.

Enphase

20 year warranty

Each panel works independently, so shading on one panel does not affect the other panels in the array.

8% better performance on a normal roof, more if shading or multiple roofs are in play.

Please be advised this is a very small system for a build of this size hence why I offered you a large system to begin with to really reap the benefits of Pv and to have a faster return on the investment for the school. Do discuss this with the board to move forward.

As requested I have prepared your quotation.

In meantime do not hesitate to contact me if you require further assistance.

Regards

Margaret

Margaret King attached two official quotations and then she sent us offers of 10% off our Solar Panels for Black Friday. Which we were very pleased to here.

Mr. Sam then told us that Deputy Bríd Smith of People Before Profit Alliance agreed to meet us with Eugene ‘Gino’ Kenny on Tuesday the 28th of November 2017.

10 of us agreed to go to meet her at the Dáil Éireann.

We left the meeting very excited and all things said in consideration
